Pretty much every celebrity photo — save for the unflattering ones on gossip sites — is so heavily touched up nowadays that this bit of adbusting from Germany is freaking genius as far as I’m concerned.  And I don’t know about you, but all the detail that they put into this (like the layer list) really makes me wish that I’d see stuff like this pop up in the US more often.

And now for something completely different…

This looks to be a wonderful history of all the artistic output of Factory Records — which was home to the likes of Joy Division, New Order, The Happy Mondays, Cabaret Voltaire and James.

If you know me, this might make a wonderful christmas gift… ;)

Here’s a quick little video of the much buzzed painted elephant from Banksy’s “Barely Legal” exhibit. I’ll have my photos and other reflections posted a bit later tonight.

P.S. From what I understand, the elephant was covered in breathable paint and seemed rather chill in its behavior while I was there. It was also constantly being fed hay and taken outside at least once over the hour that Sarah and I were there checking things out. So spare me any comments about animal cruelty, por favor.

Man, I seriously can’t fucking wait for this. Hopefully I’ll run into a few of y’all there tomorrow. If you see me, come over and say hey.

Speaking of art exhibits, Sarah and I took a day trip from Bakersfield last weekend to go attend Coop‘s Brand Recognition opening at sixspace.

It was something that I promised Sarah that we could go do and I’m glad that I got the chance to take her to do it. As a reformed rockabilly, she was so excited to get to meet Coop in the flesh. She seemed to beam for most of the day — from the trip out, thru the exhibit itself and during our victory dinner of Monte Cristo sandwiches at Jerry’s.

I’m really happy when I get the opportunity to show Sarah why I love LA so darn much — and I’m even more happy to see her loving it too.

After seeing that it will include a live, painted elephant, I am so looking forward to Banksy‘s guerrilla art exhibit in Los Angeles this weekend. I don’t care what I have to do, I am not going to fucking miss this.
