Yesterday’s election flavored edition of ZeFrank’s The Show is out-fucking-standing. Go watch it now. Don’t worry, I’ll be here when you get back.

Seriously tho… If you watch only one piece of internet video this week, then you’ve probably never heard of YouTube. But that’s beside the point, isn’t it?

P.S. You still have time to inform yourself before the November 8th election comes around. It might be a good idea to do that. Just saying, that’s all…

  • New York City Stories :: CBGB

This is a great skit from last week’s SNL featuring Fred Armisen and Amy Poehler as Lou Reed and Patti Smith riffing on the demise of CBGB. Since it’s on YouTube, I’m sure NBC will smack it down pretty quickly — so watch it while you can…

  • Just Browsing

So I’ve been using the Firefox 2.0 betas (as well as the release candidates) for the past couple months as my primary browser at work and I have to say that I’ve really come to like it quite a bit. So much so that I’m actually considering getting rid of my beloved pimped out version of Safari.

Since I spend a lot of time in a browser, switching over can be a pretty monumental task — but at this point the built in spell-check and crash recovery as well as all the freaking extensions out there are really starting to make the hassle worth it.

Then again, I loved Flock too — but a built-in weblog editor and Flickr client, while quite novel, still weren’t enough to get me to switch. *shrug* Get back to me in a couple months and we’ll see where I stand, I guess…

  • Plus One

It’s time to mark the start of another year on Sarah‘s calendar. She’s now officially the age where she can get a break on her insurance and rent a car without any penalties. And while that’s kind of boring compared to the American porn/tobacco/voting age (18) and the booze/nightclub age (21), I still think its a respectable place to be.

Happy quarter century, my lovely little doe. I love you so very much that my heart feels as if it might explode every time we touch or I’m near you. May your next quarter century be as interesting and full of potential as one you just completed.

If you don’t have anything nice to say, let a YouTube video of a monkey drinking its own urine do it for you. [via]

  • Marie Antoinette

I don’t care if the French booed it at Cannes — I’m really looking forward to Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. The 75% Rotten Tomatoes seems to be pretty positive, although I’m sure that’ll fluctuate a bit as more critics weigh in on it. I’ve never really cared much about what critics have had to say tho. *shrug*

  • Cracked Eggs

    Songbird DJ

While Songbird is straight up crashtastic on both my Dual G5 at work and my Powerbook at home, it really shows a lot of promise as far as media players go. Do yourself a favor and check out the screencast if you have a few minutes.

I’m looking forward to seeing this mature and not be so crashy. Hopefully that day will come sooner rather than later…

  • Hard Candy

I’ve been wanting to see this one for a while now, but I told Sarah that I’d wait so we could see it together. While the scores on Metacritic seem to be a bit mixed, it still looked like the sort of movie I’d actually enjoy.

And I really don’t care what most reviews say anyhow. Despite being a bit of a critic myself, I know that most people’s tastes are subjective. Anyhow, I finally gave in and managed to score a copy from a couple of peers — if you know what I mean — that the girl and I managed to watch over the weekend.

And you know what? I’m pretty damn happy that I finally got around to seeing it. It really was a pretty good but slightly flawed psychological thriller.

P.S. For those of you who don’t want to deal with the pixelated YouTube video up above, there are higher quality versions of the trailer on Apple’s site.
